SWAN in Brief
Sustainable WAter resources management Network in Central Asia-SWAN is a Network whose purpose is to build and strengthen water resources partnerships among Central Asian water stockholders; to promote education and the open exchange of information and technical expertise; and to enhance communication, cooperation, and collaboration towards a sustainable water management in Central Asia.

Vision
Water resources in Central Asia are well managed in an integrated and sustainable manner.
Mission
To enhance sustainable water resources management in Central Asia by providing an inclusive and collaborative environment among individuals, organizations, and governments.
Goals
• Facilitate the exchange of experience, best practice in water resource management in Central Asia
• Promote meaningful research and technology transfer on contemporary and emerging water resources issues
• Compile and disseminate information on water problems and solutions in central Asia
• Inform the public about water issues with the objective of promoting informed decisions at all levels of society
SWAN is steered by a Board of Directors with daily operations located at Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration.
Open Membership
SWAN does not charge for membership. All contributions to SWAN are voluntary. In order to become a Member, please fill the membership form.
Membership categories include government (national and local), international organizations, non-governmental organizations and networks, academic and research institutions, private sector, and individuals.
